Workshop June 29th….making marks

Great fun this morning….I hope! I know some people were way out of their comfort zone which is usually a good thing. We did lots of studies of waves and rocks making marks using cut up pieces of credit card…dragging the edge through wet paint. This is a technique familiar to some and new to others. It can look easy but takes quite a bit of practice getting the right amount of paint and ending up with colour and tonal differences in the rocky area. We also used masking fluid for the waves and a a fair amount of splattering. I loved the results…some quite abstract with lovely colour combinations.
