A nice three hour long watercolour session which meant we didn’t have to rush to get something finished. Today everyone worked from the same reference – one of my photos along the Towy in the snow. It was a nice subtle picture to work from and involved wet into wet work to begin with – difficult but great when it works. It really does need lots of practice to get used to drying times and obtaining the correct thickness of paint to put on the wet background without what you are trying to paint either becoming hard edged or just vanishing. Great fun – just try not to panic! I shall put up a step by step in the tips and techniques section for anyone interested. A very enjoyable afternoon and some lovely results from everybody.
