We continued our work inspired by the artist Aubrey Phillips painting big skies and putting depth into our seascapes. Preliminary work was done on large sheets of cartridge paper and then we moved on to watercolour paper..
Today I continued working with some recent ideas for encouraging us all to paint looser, bigger and lose some of out inhibitions about making ‘mistakes’.
This workshop we looked at different watercolour washes and ways of painting them.
It’s spring! So we painted blossom. Working the flowers larger than life size and putting a lovely wet into wet wash around them before painting the petals.
I am planning on setting up a monthly art class for beginners.
