Saturday 6th of October…my Start Art group with four new members did a good job on an autumn scene. We did our own interpretation of an exercise from the book ‘ The big book of painting nature in watercolour’ by Ferdinand Petrie. I can really recommend it. Nine pictures by the group…one got away!
Today I continued working with some recent ideas for encouraging us all to paint looser, bigger and lose some of out inhibitions about making ‘mistakes’.
This workshop we looked at different watercolour washes and ways of painting them.
It’s spring! So we painted blossom. Working the flowers larger than life size and putting a lovely wet into wet wash around them before painting the petals.
More work this month inspired by the late Ron Ranson.
I am planning on setting up a monthly art class for beginners.
