September’s Saturday workshop

Another enjoyable morning at St Michael’s, Gelli Aur. Some more cottage pictures but this time not such a representational way of working. We masked out the building shape using masking film…. after a bit of experimentation to make sure the paint didn’t creep under the film. Then we took some inspiration from the work of the late and sadly missed John Knapp-Fisher painting very dark skies and contrasting them with the light on the cottages. Here are the finished results using a photo of mine of Watch Cottage in Pembrokeshire. Included are some finished paintings of cottages at Abereiddy started last month.
