Painting some cottages

Its a long time since I painted cottages….not sure why since I enjoy it so much. I particularly like to have a lot of contrast and do experimental very loose foregrounds. Sometimes I paint them very simply and other times take longer and put in more detail. I may do some more….

These paintings are for sale in Origin Carmarthen and will shortly be on the website.

  1. I like your contrasting skies and loose foregrounds very much, especially the foreground in Treleddyd
Fawr; not sure about the white roof though!

  2. Hi Alan, hope all is well with you.The light can effect things in unusual ways…this is how it appeared at the time and I liked it so didn’t make any changes.

  3. I love Pembrokshire cottages and yours are no exception. I particularly liked the triptych and, as Alan commented, really like the way you’ve painted the foregrounds.

  4. I love these paintings Wendy, particularly the triptych. I’m looking forward to classes starting again, will we all be painting cottages?

  5. Thank you. We could if people would like to. If I remember we did some work in oils on buildings/cottages but could have a go in watercolour.
