The last Saturday morning class of the year and we painted snowdrops.
Our open day earlier in the month was a great success with many people telling us how much they enjoyed it…..including lots of folk who had a go at painting autumn leaves with me and other members of our group.
Always a great subject to paint. We masked out the flower drawings and tried several experimental backgrounds using watercolour with salt and clingfilm. Some of the resulting paintings were used in aperture cards….a lovely gift.
Today we looked at the work of the late Ron Ranson an artist who inspired me and many others through his books and demonstrations.
Painting soft reflections in watercolour is not easy. It needs plenty of practice. Everyone did really well.
